The College of Political Science set up the Institute of Ideological and Political Education in September 2008 in order to better cope with and deeply do research into the new situation, the new problems and the new challenges in the work of giving instruction of ideological and political theory courses in higher educational institutions. We want to study and discuss the theories and practices brought forth by the ideological and political education so as to consolidate and improve such work, in the hope of promoting the development of CUIT in terms of construction of cultural and spiritual civilization altogether with other tasks. The ideological and political education among universities is a field of science, which differs from other subjects’ research objects, terms and areas, and which should own its unique basic principles, logical systems and structure. Meanwhile, there should be special research methods to serve the development of our field. We integrate various resources of research teams and directions, and make overall plans of different issues in order to expand and strengthen the subjects of ideological and political education. We hope to successfully apply setting up relevant master’s programs. Since the establishment of our institution, we have actively devoted to various studies of theories and methods of ideological and political education among college students, as well as to the studies of courses in this area. In our research, we stick to the style of problem orientation and practice orientation. We pay attention to studying new ideas and theories in this field, and strive to make breakthroughs and innovations in theory studies and practice research. Institute Director: Sun Shalan Institute of Current Political Education The Institute of Current Political Education was founded in November 2008. It mainly undertakes the teaching of “Situation and Policy” on campus and other relevant optional courses. The faculties are a team of young experts: there are 7 full-time teachers who are all under the age of 40, among whom, there is 1 associate professor and 1 Ph.D. student. In addition, due to the heavy work load of teaching “Situation and Policy”, the institute hires tutors and administrative staff to work as part-time teachers. The institute is mainly responsible for the daily management and course construction of “Situation and Policy” with other relevant optional courses. Currently, we write and compile teaching materials every semester and are planning to publish the textbook, Basics of Situation and Policy, which serves freshmen. Moreover, we provide optional courses like “International Law and Relationship”. In addition to the normal teaching load, the faculties of the Institute make great endeavors to do various researches. In recent years, a group of papers have been published in core journals like “Adult Education in China”, “Social Science in Gansu” etc. We actively apply for research tasks of various levels and hope to make good achievements and great contributions. Doing research serves teaching and learning. We want to do a better job in carrying out studies in order to improve the general level of the entire faculty so that the quality of teaching gets improved. Director of Institute: Zheng Li Institute of Marxist Theory Education The Institute of Marxist Theory Education in our college was founded in November 2008. It mainly undertakes the teaching tasks of Marxist theories on campus. It owns a young team of experts where there are 15 full-time teachers, 6 part-time teachers. Among them, there are 5 professors, 8 associate professors and 4 doctoral students. All the teachers who are under the age of 40 earned their master’s degrees. In this team, there are teachers who received the title of “Excellent Young Teachers Who Are Capable with One Major Yet with Many Minors in Chengdu”, “School-level Excellent Worker in ‘Three Aspects of Education’” etc. The Institute is mainly responsible for managing and constructing the two courses “Introduction to Basic Marxist Theories” and “Maoism and Introduction to the Localization of Socialism in China”. Marxist Theories is the key course to be constructed in CUIT. “Theories” and “Introduction” are both fine courses in the university level. In addition to teaching, the faculty members of the institute make great efforts in doing various researches. Recently, a group of papers have been published in core journals such as “Marxism and Realities”, “Studies of Dialectics of Nature”, “Studies of Maoism” etc. Our teachers have also written and published several academic works and have actively applied for scientific research tasks of different levels. We hope to make good achievements and great contributions in order to improve the general level of the entire faculty so that the quality of teaching gets improved. Director of Institute: Yin Ji Institute of Ideological and Political Education
The Institute of Ideological and Political Education was founded in November 2008. It mainly undertakes the teaching tasks of the ideological and political education on campus. The structure of the faculty is reasonable. There are 10 full-time teachers and 1 external teacher. Among them, there is 1 professor, 3 associate professors and 2 doctoral students. All the teachers who are under the age of 40 have almost earned their masters’ degree. In this team, we have teachers who received the titles of “Excellent Worker on Building University Students’ Ideological and Political Education in Sichuan”, “Excellent Young Teachers Who Are Capable of One Major Yet with Many Minors in Chengdu”, “University-level Excellent Teachers in CUIT”, “School-level Excellent Worker in ‘Three Aspects of Education’” etc. The Institute is mainly responsible for managing and constructing the two courses: “Ideological and Moral Cultivation & Basics of Law” and “The Essentials of Modern and Contemporary History of China”. Wherein, “Ideological and Moral Cultivation & Basics of Law” was the excellent course to be constructed in the school level in 2008. In addition to teaching, the faculty members make great efforts in doing various researches. Recently, a group of papers have been published in core journals like “Studies of Maoism”, “Social Sciences of Gansu”, “Teaching and Management” etc. They have written and published several academic works and have actively applied for scientific research projects of different levels. We hope to make good achievements and great contributions in order to improve the general level of the entire faculty so that the quality of teaching gets improved. |
